Junior Programmer
J!NX is a lifestyle clothing brand inspired by video games and geek culture. We’re
looking for a talented junior programmer who will develop awesome new software to
help our team and improve our website. But we’re not looking for just any programmer:
we’re looking for a bad-ass coder who loves being a gamer and a geek and isn’t afraid
to show it. Does that sound like you? Then read on!
Responsibilities
- As a Junior Programmer, create database-driven web and desktop applications using
ASP.NET, SQL Server, and cutting-edge Microsoft development frameworks.
- Master object-oriented programming, relational database design, and web design (HTML,
CSS, AJAX, etc.) with help from an experienced, supportive, and down-to-earth development
team.
- Participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of an N-Tier system.
- Express yourself as a gamer and geek, bring a positive attitude to work every day,
and show off your creative side.
- Work full-time at the J!NX Fortress, in the heart of beautiful Poway, “The City
in the Country”.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or comparable; or equivalent
work experience as a professional developer.
- Working knowledge of object oriented programming. Experience with C# or Java highly
preferred, but experience with other OOP languages like C++ or VB is acceptable.
- Demonstrable programming skill; knowledge of good programming practices and understanding
of efficient data structures and algorithms.
- Understanding of SQL databases, how they work and how developers interact with them.
- General proficiency with Windows and PC hardware.
- Independent, attentive to detail, self-starting and self-motivated.
- Totally super smart
- Good sense of humor and respect for other people.
- The desire to become the best developer in the land.
- Deep immersion in the geek/gamer lifestyle.
Nice-To-Haves:
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with any web programming languages, including PHP, Ruby, Classic ASP,
JSP, MVC, Perl.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL, and relational databases in general
- Experience with source control systems.
- A sense of style. We are a clothing brand, after all.
- Develop an appreciation for good coffee and bad jokes.
- An obsession with gaming, especially video games.

Freelance T-Shirt Designer
J!NX is a lifestyle brand heavily influenced by gaming and geek culture (www.JINX.com). The art team is looking for an experienced artist to assist in (primarily) T-shirt and clothing design.
Responsibilities
- Create incredible art that specifically works on T-shirts and clothing
Requirements:
- TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST SUBMIT A LINK TO AN ONLINE PORTFOLIO OF WORK
- MUST be immersed in the geek and video game culture
- LOTS of creativity!
- Expert in Photoshop and/or Illustrator
- General proficiency with Windows
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness
- Strong email communication as well as verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Positive and energetic, even under pressure
- 3 years minimum experience
- Good sense of humor
- For this particular position, having a high level character in World of Warcraft that you didn't buy on eBay is a HUGE PLUS.
